Open Door’s ethos is rooted in the conviction that each person has the potential to build a fulfilling and happy life, depending, when necessary, on the support of others.
Open Door is a place of unconditional acceptance of each person, just as they are. Everyone is special, each person has their story and everyone deserves acceptance, time, dignity and respect. We do not judge nor control.
We firstly seek to address the most practical immediate needs of those who are living on the streets, such as the need for food, shelter, clothing, showers, laundry and for company.
However that is only the first step. We are not aiming simply to enable people to just survive on the streets but aim to empower people to first move on into sustainable accommodation, where they then can be in a position to address any challenges which they may be facing.

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Arc is a local homeless charitable organisation, supporting over 350 people per year. Our mission is to offer supported accommodation where people can be inspired and empowered by their own strengths.
Formerly known as Taunton Association for the Homeless we have been in existence for more than 40 years, now with 15 properties housing 174 people. As well as providing accommodation Arc aims to ensure no-one has to spend more than one night homeless, with our Outreach
Team working hard to support rough sleepers, getting them into accommodation as quickly as possible.
Arc understands that it is not just about having a roof over your head so we help our clients on a road to recovery, inspiring and assisting them to move forwards through a positive journey to independence.
Bridgwater Wolves football club
Bridgwater Wolves is a grass roots football club, established in 1993 from a kick about in a local park evolving to one of the best known and most welcoming clubs in Bridgwater. We provide safe and positive environment for children of all ages and abilities to learn and develop football and life skills. We have teams for most age groups and two Adult teams to enable players to progress in playing in a very competitive men's league.
We are situated in the Sydenham area of Bridgwater, supporting a wide range of children and families. We recognise that we provide a lot more than football coaching to our players, we encourage them to gain positive life skills, team working, dealing with challenges positively and most importantly having fun!
It is really important to us that our volunteers display pro social behaviours and become role models for our players, we also have a progression route for players to get involved with grass roots football and support the club if that's a route they want to pursue.
